I haven't heard from the people with the nice writing project, which was supposed to start today. This is a problem in that it makes the timing tighter--but I didn't feel like buckling down, really.
I wrote about 400 words about one of my aliens, so that's progress, and a couple of dozen about my main human character.
I also got a small amount of unexpected freelance work--the man in Japan wanted a hand with something, having taken ill. Two documents, a total of 873 words, for a quick once-over of grammar, punctuation, and any egregious problems with wording. Six yen a word (about 4.8 cents/word in US money). Not bad for an hour or two that was otherwise going to be spent playing nethack. I did one quick google (to sort out which part of the person being described's name was her family name), but mostly did it quick and light, as requested.
