I've gotten rid of a lot of old financial paperwork (bank statements from previous banks, things from my student loan [1]), while keeping some I might need (mostly tax-related), and some other miscellany, and one very chaotic shelf is now half-empty and looks tidier, though it still contains a miscellany of financial and fannish papers, along with a telephone and our spare keys. Less found this time: two beads, another envelope of photos, two $1 bills, and four 29-¢ stamps.
The remaining stacks include current material: I think I need a convenient "to be paid" box to deal with part of that, and a cup for pens. And then I'll have a visibly cleaner desk, and lots of information to be looked at: envelopes of photos, lots of floppy disks, an unopened letter, my old (hardcopy) address book which I'm not sure why I'm keeping, except maybe that it has entries for my (now-deceased) grandparents.

cattitude earlier: I'm not over this cold, and it's windy and annoying outside. But I made us lunch, feeling it was about time after Cattitude basically fed me for three days (okay, not breakfast, but how much work is it to mix berries and yogurt?).
