This one punctuated by Donnell, the cheerful man who works at the front desk and learned my name quickly, coming over and touching my hair while I was on the stretch machine, and saying he was jealous. On his return, I said "What do you have to be jealous about, with those gorgeous braids?" and he said "They're not purple." I also had a brief conversation with someone who said he thought I had the weights too high on the machine I was working with, and then apologized when I said I was doing three sets of 15 at that weight. But he'd gotten me to pay more attention and slow down a little, so that was good. We chatted a bit about this being a good club, as well.

Hip adduction, 110 pounds, 15, 15, 9; followed the nine with three reps at 105 pounds (I wanted to do six, but wasn't up to it)
Hip abduction, 90 pounds, 15, 13
Cardio, 33 minutes. I got the heart rate up into the 145-151 range, and topped at 153.
Bench press: 50 pounds, 12, 12, 7+3 (didn't drop to 45 pounds for the third set this time)
Adjustable row: 100 pounds, 3 sets of 15. This is the one where the nice man worried about my weight selection and its effect on my form, which led to my mentioning that I'm getting nice back muscles.
Triceps pulldown: 40 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Crunches and arches, 3 sets of 15 each; cat-and-camel; tree. The balance wasn't great--I need to either make a point of doing the tree every gym trip or do it at home. Or both.
Bicep curls, 35 pound bar, 3 sets of 15
Seated leg press: 160 pounds, 2 sets of 12; 140 pounds, 15
The usual stretches

I then met people for dinner and the Lincoln Center Theatre's revival of Dinner at Eight, which is part farce, part melodrama, and an excellent production. I got home around 11:30, and was pleasantly surprised to find [livejournal.com profile] cattitude already here. And so, as they say, to bed.
