I just got out of my third shower of the day, and am facing a somewhat impatient cat, who believes I should sit on the bed and give her a lap. (This is our custom, but done now would interfere with bed.)
The first was a normal morning shower. The second was an after-gym shower. The third was necessary because I and my clothes stank of cigarette smoke after a few hours at Rose's Turn. I'm not sure if it was smokier than usual, or something about what I was wearing or where I sat.
Despite the smoke, I had a fine time, hanging out with assorted costumed friends. I wasn't exactly costumed, but I had smeared purple glitter on my face, and was wearing a Flying Karamazov Brothers Stupid Hat. Which I hope will be reasonably smoke-free by morning.
roadnotes sang, and brought chocolate. We all sang along to the Beatles and "I Fought the Law" and other cool things. And then I headed home, tired and over-smoked.
Hip abduction, 90 pounds, two sets of 14, break for adduction, one set of 15. Hip adduction, 105 pounds, 15, 15, (pause for abduction) 13+4. Usually I alternate, starting with adduction, but someone was ensconced on that machine when I was ready to start.
Cardio, level 8, 28 minutes, Heart rate mostly 148-153.
Bench press, 50 pounds, 12 reps, then 7, 45 pounds, 12 reps. Not up to usual.
Seated leg curl, 65 pounds, 3 sets of 15.
Adjustable row, 100 pounds, 3 sets of 15.
Over to the mat: crunches and arches, alternating sets, 3 sets of 15 each. Cat and camel, 5 or 6 reps, stopped because my wrist didn't like the weight. Tree, 4 times on each foot, balance continues to improve, right still better than left.
Triceps pulldowns with the rope handle: 30 pounds, 15 reps. Tried 40 pounds, did 3 reps, too much. Then the other device came free, and Idid two sets of 15 at 35 pounds.
Seated leg extension, alternate legs, 10 pounds, 3 sets of 11 reps on each leg.
Bicep curls, 35-pound bar, 12 reps.
Wrist curls with a one-pound weight, 2 sets of 12 on each side.
Biceps curls, 30 pound bar, 2 sets of 15.
And the glitter jar came open in my bag, so I have almost no sparkly stuff left, and everything in that compartment of my backpack is presumably now covered in purple sparkle.
Update: With patience and a spoon, I recovered much of the spilled glitter. I now have 2/3 of a jar of it, and have put the jar in a baggie because I don't trust the jar to stay sealed. I also have a backpack with a very shiny purple interior, and am not sure how to clean it. I wiped a book clean, rinsed my combination lock and my comb, and threw away three cheap pens and an assortment of outdated paper.
