We have power, again.

While it was off, [livejournal.com profile] cattitude and I played Scrabble by (dim, cloudy) daylight, then walked down the stairs to Go Do Stuff.

My main Stuff was the gym.

Hip adduction, 100 pounds, 3 sets of 15. Hip abduction, 90 pounds, 2 sets of 15, then 13 and 2, and the 2 were wimpy.
Cardio, 25 minutes--I'd set the timer for 33, but at one point was telling myself that I could make it to ten, so when I finished my paper, I decided 25 would do.
Bench press, 45 pounds, 2 sets of 15, then 11+6. (Before I even started, I took the previous person's 45-pound plates off the bar and put them on the storage bars; I don't think I could have done that when I started.)

Seated leg curl, 60 pounds, 3 sets of 15. A bit of tension in my left calf in the second set, so I made sure to stretch thoroughly before and after the third set. (I often don't bother with the stretches after the last set, just walk across the room to the next machine.)

Adjustable row, 90 pounds, 3 sets of 15.
Leg extension, alternating legs. First set, 10 pounds, 12 reps on each leg. Second and third sets, 15 pounds, 12 reps on each leg.

Triceps pulldown: bar handle, 80 pounds, 2 sets of 15. Rope handle, 50 pounds, 10 reps, then 45 pounds for 5 reps to complete a set.

Crunches and arches, 3 sets of 15 each. A little bit of that yoga balancing exercise. Still need the wall, and wobble quite a bit: the mirror is informative if not exactly encouraging.

Bicep curls: started with an 18-pound "body bar", and did 12 reps. My left forearm wasn't happy. Switched to a 20-pound total bar-with-weights, one of the wavy ones with a better grip, and did two sets of 15.

Finished by stretching: everything except the annoying "hips, legs, back" one that tends to hurt when I try it.

After that, we met for lunch, since we were three blocks from each other, then I went out to Sahadi and got tea, olives, and other good things; he got bread at a neighborhood bakery; and we came home. The power was still out when cattitude got home (about 45 minutes after they'd said it would be back), but had just been restored when I called him on the cell phone from Isham Street.

Oh, and on Tuesday they're taking our power away again. Anyone want to meet for lunch?
