Not a bad workout, really, just that it took me forever to be sure I was going, which meant I didn't call L. in time to try doing anything this evening.

Hip adduction and abduction, at 100 and 90 pounds respectively, 3 sets of 15 each. The last few reps were difficult, but I didn't have to cheat this time. 23 minutes and change of cardio, again at a good heart rate (140s). Bench press, 45 pounds, 3 sets of 15, except the last was 13, stop, stretch, and then 2 more. Leg curl, 60 pounds, 3 sets of 15. A Good Thing: whatever was causing my left calf to cramp up there has gone away. Adjustable row, 90 pounds, 3 sets of 15. Leg extension, ten pounds, one leg at a time. Three sets on each leg: 15 reps, then 12, then 15. Triceps pull-downs: bar handle, 70 pounds, 2 sets of 15. Rope handle, 45 pounds, 2 sets of 15. I really struggled through the second, probably should have only done 3 sets total. Then I went to do the stretches on the "stretch center" device, and had to stop halfway through because my left forearm was hurting, and almost all of these stretches are some variant on leaning back and being supported largely by the arms. Yes, there are wrist straps. Yes, I wear them. I hope never to need them, since I suspect the principle here is that a sprained or broken wrist is acceptable if the alternative is a cracked head, neck, or back.

Then I went down to the Village, ran one errand (for the alt-poly swap), bought some plums, and dithered about food. Went down into the subway at West 4th, took the E to 14th (it's hot outside, therefore West 4th Street station is very hot), continued to dither, and grabbed the A to 59th, for Tea Den. A basic reliable Chinese restaurant, that I mostly use for after-workout lunches. I had the "house special noodles with chicken", which are spicy noodles--spicy from black pepper, mostly--with plenty of basil, the chicken, and shreds of carrot and bean sprouts. A nice change, and a suitable dinner after yogurt and berries for breakfast and tomato/scallion/cheddar omelets for lunch.
