I finished my proofreading/light copyedit on that "Christian ladies" book. And the more I look at it, the worse it is. On every level from "these people haven't thought through what they're trying to say" to "at least some of their citations are wrong." But I got some Pagemaker practice, and I'm getting paid for it. I sent the document off to Robert with a note that it's beyond the scope of my/our job, but he might suggest that they check their scripture references.

I did a slightly shorter workout, but basically good.

Hip adduction, 105 pounds, 3 sets of 15. Abduction, 90 pounds, 15, 13, 14.

Cardio, 33 minutes (11.87 miles/km), heart rate mostly 145-154, but it took several minutes to get above the mid-130s.

Row, 100 pounds, 2 sets of 15, then 10--I stopped because it felt like a headache coming on. So I put my head down for a minute or two, then went to the next exercise.

Seated leg curl, 65 pounds, 2 sets of 15; 60 pounds, 15.

Bench press, 50 pounds, 13, 10+4, 8+4.

Triceps, 35 pounds, 3 sets of 15. I've got the position right.

Leg extension, alternating single legs. 10 pounds, 3 sets of 10 reps.

I've written nothing today, except a couple of jottings in the "notes" file. Okay, nothing on the novel: I've written emails and LJ comments, but not fiction. Still, there are a couple of hours left in the day.

After the workout, I went down to Kossar's, and got a dozen bialys to take to alt.polycon. I ate one on the F train, then stopped off at Porto Rico for a cup of tea to drink and two boxes of tea to bring home.

We're leaving for alt.polycon tomorrow morning, and I don't expect or plan to be online while I'm up there. I will take a printout of the Nanowrimo notes file, and plenty of writing paper, and hope for the best.

Happy travels, and have a good alt.polycon. If it would please and/or amuse and/or satisfy you to do so, please feel free to say hi to folks from me -- or even, in the immortal words of Diane Duane, "hug who I'd hug, and slug who I'd slug," but only if you feel like it.

I'm a smidgen wistful, but mostly glad to be in a place that I hope will be relatively angst-free, sarcasm-free, and bloody-idiocy-free. I will, however, miss seeing a buncha folks I like. (Some of whom are involved in various idiocies, but that's life. Quid pro quo and all that.)

And don't forget a hug and a hello for yourself from me, yah?

Have fun at alt.polycon.

I dropped in on the one here a couple years ago. It looked like a Potlatch with a slightly different crowd. Hah!
