I got some research work done. It went more slowly than it should have, because the people behind the desk at the library didn't seem to comprehend that someone might want all copies of periodical X for a nine-month period. They were only willing to point me at the shelves of bound volumes, which in most cases got me through either October or December of last year.
I stopped for the day earlier than I had planned, because a side-effect of starting with the bound volumes was that I kept starting at September and working forward. Which meant I kept running into September 11, and it was more stressful than I'd expected: even skimming tables of contents, it was suddenly there, and continued to be there. And flipping to get to the pages with the articles I needed took me past lots and lots of photos of the attack, and afterwards.
So I packed up my copies, and went to the gym. The walk over was good for my mood (it was a gorgeous day), and cardio and weight-lifting are good. I took it easy on some things--my knees were bothering me yesterday and this morning, so I skipped the leg press entirely--but did 25 minutes of cardio and I'd guess 40 or so of weights and stretches.
The handiest branch of Subway was closed--shutters down--so I walked over to Amy's Bread, and got a sandwich there. Fewer veggies, but tastier: brie and apple on whole-wheat walnut bread. And a cup of tea to go with--at Subway I'd have had to settle for soda.

roadnotes, who wanted to show me a draft of a letter, and a few other people. Good company, but I forgot that I'd been feeling wiped yesterday and vaguely out of sorts this morning, and had a drink. Alcoholic, I mean. I wound up leaving early because it made me feel uncomfortably warm, rather than cheerful.
And here I am.
