I'm sitting here under a "heat advisory", which means it's hot enough, humid enough, that the National Weather Service advice that starts with "drink lots of water" and "wear light, light-colored clothes" goes on to tell me to cease outdoor activities.
I got the laundry done, and the flowers watered, before it got too hot.
The computer is out in the living room, which is about as hot as outside, except without the dragonflies and swallows. I expect to spend a lot of today in the bedroom, which means reading. Which is okay. But first I'm going to go out, carrying my parasol (which is just an umbrella working a second job), and get something to eat and maybe some groceries and postage stamps.
Tomorrow, I have to go out, to see my doctor. So I'll combine things--the unavoidable heat is the walk to and from the train here. Maybe some clothes shopping. Gym. Maybe NYRSF, if the timing works. Possibly sit for a while in an air-conditioned library.
