More research might have helped: not only was it a chilly evening to be outside, but most of d.b.a.'s back garden was reserved for a whisky tasting they were having. Still, that simplified the decision to grab a couple of tables in the bar, selected primarily for having enough light that I could see the pages of my notebook while waiting for company.
The few of us who showed up--Arwen,
roadnotes,
baldanders, the Evil Twins (not actually related to each other), Peter, and of course me--had fun. Between
roadnotes and Kevin, we were well supplied with crisps and with sweets; I had trouble convincing myself that I had to not only eat dinner, but figure out what, when I got home.
One advantage of coming home relatively early is that the new crescent moon was gorgeous over the hills of Inwood Hill Park, a bright crescent, the rest of the moon shining by earthlight, and a bright planet hanging nearby.
