Yesterday, Andy and I were on our way to Vijay's housecooling (like a housewarming, except the place is usually physically too warm already).
The train stopped for no apparent reason in a tunnel, with a strong smell of ozone. So we got out at the next station, and walked to where we changed trains.
Along the way, we saw
* A rose, fully in bloom. In Brooklyn, in April. We have broken the seasons.
* The tail-end of a movie shoot, for something set in the late 1930s or early 1940s. Period cars, with license plates saying "World's Fair." Period signs saying "Interborough Rapid Transit" over the contemporary "1 2 4 5 M N R" signs on the Borough Hall station.
Life is cool, even if I did feel somewhat unstuck in time.
