A pair of cardinals built a nest in a tree near our backyard, and for the last couple of weeks, we've been enjoying watching and listening to both the parents and the fledglings. [livejournal.com profile] cattitude has seen more than I have, because I was in Montreal for some of their early flights.

Today, I stood on the porch watching the cardinals while doing one of my exercises. A lot of what I'm doing involves using a doorframe to hold the exercise elastics, but a few of my exercises can be done standing anywhere, and one just requires a step. (I did some of those while waiting for the last person on my bus to clear U.S. Customs on Tuesday.)

[I didn’t take my elastics to Montreal, and all I did from June 9-15 was a few serratus pushups and calf raises, including 3 sets of 15 calf raises while waiting for the bus to leave the customs stop on the 14th]

lateral raise 600g 3 sets of 11 with each hand
shrugs, yellow elastic, 3 sets of 12
row yellow elastic, 3 sets of 12
internal rotation, red elastic, {12, 10, 10} with each hand
external rotation blue elastic, 2 sets of 10 with each hand

also quite a bit of weeding (which I am feeling in my upper arms, and may be why I wasn’t up for a third set of external rotations), and a good walk to and from Alewife, with some detours.

6/17: serratus pushups 3 sets of 10
crunches 2x17
calf raises 3 sets of 15
biceps curls, 8-pound weight, 3 sets of 10 with each hand
