We took Kaja and Kia to the vet this morning. They both have the upper respiratory infection that has pretty obvious for the last few days. Kaja also has a fever. So they got their last dose of the dewormer, but the vet wants to hold off on their last vaccine dose for now. She also sent us home with eardrops for both of them, an eye ointment (eek!) for one, and a lysine supplement that she hopes will help them get rid of the infection.

After jumping down and exploring, they both jumped up onto the fold-out metal table (standard vet office equipment, designed so an animal can't dig into it). From there, Kia sat on top of the carriers; Kaja kept trying to jump from their to a storage cupboard built into the wall. We mostly tried to block her while Kia was being inspected and dosed, so we "only" had to extract Kaja from the cupboard nine times; on two of those she landed on [personal profile] cattitude, who was trying to block her, and went straight over him and into the cabinet. Kia also likes high places—they have both been spending a lot of time on top of the six-foot-tall cabinet where we keep the stereo, records, and so on. We have been taking photos, but they're still in the cameras.

After the last PT session I ordered a set of Aylio exercise bands, which arrived today. (It's a set of different-strength elastics, plus handles, a door anchor, and an instruction booklet and DVD that I am so far ignoring.) This means both that I can do more of my PT exercises (for one of them I would need 1- or 2-pound dumbbells) and that I can do them right here instead of walking over to the building fitness room. There's a lot of nonsense talked about exercise, but I think it's true that a major predictor of whether people will exercise is convenience.

The freelance math editing project chugs along; I am trying to balance it against not overusing my shoulder.

I spent an annoying amount of time yesterday and this morning dealing with problems in the MacOS mail client. I think I have them resolved, but at one point I decided this would be a good time to clean out my inbox, which also involved repetitive mouse stuff.
