Well, I've done most of what needs to be done on the first step of this project. Fortunately, the person at the other end encouraged me to leave notes when I wasn't sure about things, so I've got comments ranging from simple explanations to "sorry, I'm not an accountant" and "I think this is the same as last year's, in which case it should say xxxxx". (It doesn't help that Adobe Acrobat's copy function cheerfully runs left-to-right across column and page barriers. No, I'm not editing in Acrobat, but I have the Acrobat version of last year's report.)

Let it sit for a bit, then dive in again either this afternoon or tomorrow morning, depending on how things go. I'm doing well enough with this that I told someone else that he can call me with questions: I was afraid I'd be staring at this right until the deadline. As it stands, the deadlines are tight but doable--since this is my only urgent project. I wouldn't want to try doing it around a 9-5 job, though.

Also, my shoulders hurt, whether from gym yesterday or too much time sitting and staring at this machine, or what, I don't know. *sigh* Still, I'll probably stop by the gym--they've got this weird anniversary celebration/contest that requires presence there after 5:30 this evening to enter, with prizes up to a year's free membership. Worth dropping by, doing some mat work and maybe bicep curls, and putting my name down. If I'm really diligent, I'll stop by NYRSF and then the gym; more likely I'll just do the gym and buy groceries. NYRSF will get Saturday, which is more fun--we get to play with manuscripts instead of stuffing envelopes. Sometime I'll figure out ask why the cool stuff with manuscripts and dinner included is called a "work weekend", and the envelope stuffing is a "meeting".
