uhm... wait a minute... did i miss something (entirely possible), or did somebody screw up there??

I don't think that's a screw-up. There was some speculative chatter a few months back (fueled by a New Yorker article) about McCain leaving the GOP and either going indie or joining the Democrats. Obviously somebody's interested in running the numbers on the possibility.

Hmmm, daddy or chips (which will mean absolutely nothing to anyone who hasn't seen a certain oven-chip advert over here).

(Small girl asks even smaller sister whether she prefers daddy or chips. Smaller sister ponders this for several hours, until daddy steals chips off her plate. You can guess the answer.)

I'd have to go with the oven chip, if only because the change in administration would slow everything down in getting worse.
