main email down?

Update: As of Friday morning, I'm getting email again, but isup.me still thinks panix.com is down. And one of the comments on LJ said that they've been intermittently having problems for three days, so see below if I don't answer or something bounces.

The Panix email server was back up for at least a moment at 3:02 am. But it went back down again about 20 seconds after I was able to log onto web mail and see the message list. This is the third day in a row they've had mail server problems, and this is by far the longest it's been down when I actively needed it to be up. I hope the various things going wrong stabilize soon...and I'm utterly certain they hope so, too! (And that they're doing everything they can to make it so.)

Mail seemed more solidly back up a few minutes before 4am. Hope it stays that way.

I decided, long ago, that I wouldn't get upset when some internet/computer thing Doesn't Work,or doesn't work right -- I'm content to Marvel that they ever work at all.

Mind you, I'm pretty sure I didn't chnge the setting to "Internal modem" [which resulted in getting a "Cannot find carrier signal" message for three months, and in spending c. $2,000 on a new computer...one that has a gloriously-large screen, & probably does lots of Neat Stuff, but no longer does things that MacIntoshes used to do and that I still want to do]. *sigh*

So good luck with your System getting to work well again.
