I made an appointment this week with Dr. Sai Mannem at Overlake's downtown Bellevue clinic. I have had a physical (test results due in a week to ten days), and have a referral for a colonscopy (which I may or may not pursue in any hurry) and a prescription for a shingles vaccine.
I tried getting that vaccine this afternoon, after exercising. Safeway has now convinced me to keep using Rite Aid as my pharmacy, even though it's further away:
I spent about 15 minutes waiting, much of it while standing between two signs (one of them graphic) urging me to get the shingles vaccine, saying that I could make an appointment or walk in. When the pharmacy tech got to me, she looked at my prescription and said they weren't doing any more vaccines today. I asked if that was because they were too busy or out of stock. She said yes. I said I wanted to know which (so I could figure out when to come back). The tech said "I'll let you talk to the pharmacist." I asked the pharmacist the same question, and she told me that they only do those by appointment, and reached for a form to hand me, at which point I told her I would go someplace that doesn't falsely advertise walk-in service.
(The Rite-Aid isn't far, but almost everything is further from my apartment than that Safeway.)
ETA: This was mostly so I will have a GP for if/when I do get sick. Also, I called Rite-Aid and they said I don't need an appointment for the shingles vaccine, but there might be a wait, depending how busy they are.
No formal cardio, but I walked about three kilometers, home to doctor to library to store to home.
