That's just irritating

NY State has a Website you can use to put in your weekly unemployment claims. agrumer spoke highly of it, so last week I took a deep breath, turned JavaScript on, and tried it. Quick and efficient, much better than all the key punching and listening to the same recording as last week via dial-a-robot.

Today it was like wading through molasses. And when I finally got through the molasses, I got an error message explaining that they were "unable to serve [me]" and reiterating that the service is generally available (among other times) "all day Sunday." Today is Sunday. NYS Department of Labor claims to be an equal opportunity employer--do you suppose they'll hire me to write less annoying error messages?

It has been really slow today. I've tried to get through twice, and both times it was so slow just loading the initial page that I just stopped and figured I'd try again later.

I think this will be my last week of benefits, unless I qualify for some kind of extension.

Don't knock it - anything is better than being forced to physically present at a specific office at a set time decided without consultation with you, every second week, supposedly to discuss your job-hunt, but actually to be insulted by bored and incompetant, yet patronizing staff...
