I just learned that Marilee Layman died yesterday. I knew her mostly online, from the rec.arts.sf.* newsgroups. (via Making Light)

So I heard about this when catching up on LJ, and went and lit some incense on my ancestor altar because I Pray For The Dead, and wound up slightly defensively explaining to the smoke column that I know Marilee doesn't believe in such things but I do and....
