In theory, I'm offline and sitting here in the dark. There was a sign up last night--which went up after I came in for the evening--that we would have no power from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, for emergency repairs.
It's finally raining, which makes "go play outside" less tempting. In the meantime, I'm using the computer while I have it. The stove is gas-only, so if I stay in I can still cook. The main problems, if this happens, will be the basic dimness of a rainy day, and the lack of elevator service. If I go out today, it'll be once.

The latest word is that the power will be off from 9-3 tomorrow and Tuesday, for "emergency" repairs. Right. An emergency that can be conveniently scheduled for weekdays during working hours. Rumor is that this is to do with power to the Urban Ecology Center, in the park across the street, 100 or 150 yards away; I have no idea why this means turning our building's power off.
My schedule makes tomorrow a gym day: I'll head out early, exercise, run some errands, maybe go to the zoo or the Museum of Natural History.
