More Wiscon reporting later, I hope, but in the meantime, some gym/exercise notes:
I did exercise a little bit at the con, because it seemed like it would be steadying when I needed that Sunday afternoon. The hotel exercise room had a few useful things, so I did some squats, the opposite arm/leg balance thing, and some lat pulldowns. But I didn't do a lot of my standard stretches, and only did the shoulder exercise with the elastic once in four days, because things were feeling sore.
Today, at my gym:
Cardio, 17:00, top heart rate 142
Rolled out IT band etc.
Hamstring bridge, 4 sets of 9
Psoas, 3 with each leg
Ab work with legs on 55 cm ball, 3 sets of 15
Squats leaning on ball, 3 sets of 15
[No calf raises, because I did two sets of 15 on the stairs at home earlier in the day]
Opposite arm/leg, 10 pairs
Some standing on the foam roller, including a little on one leg
Lunges, 2 sets of {10 on each leg}; the last 3 reps were difficult, but I pushed through them, then sat on the mat for a minute.
Standing on balance platform:
Lat pulldowns, 50 pounds, 2 sets of 12; on one leg, 10 each
Hug a tree, 20 pounds, 2 sets of 12
Back exercise, 35 pounds, 12; 25 pounds, 12, then one-egged, 10 each
Glute machine, 50 pounds, 12 with each leg
And then a trip down to the Village for tea and coffee; took the IRT, which meant a couple of flights of stairs down at 50th Street, and the same number up at Christopher, which went okay. Since I was in the neighborhood anyway, I stopped in to show the healed tattoo to the guy who did the work this winter, and then at Varsano's for chocolate.
