Last month, when I was in for a cleaning, my dentist recommended that I get two fillings replaced. Since I still have dental insurance, but probably won't for much longer, I did that this afternoon. Everything went smoothly, except that my upper lip and nose were numb for an annoyingly long time. Not very long in absolute terms, but long enough that I was wishing for hot tea sooner than it would have been sensible to have any.
Before dentistry, I got lunch (tofu in black bean sauce) and worked out briefly.
Rolled out IT band etc., with extra on left thigh: I'd not been to the gym, or gotten out the foam roller at home, since last Thursday, and it needed it.
Hamstring bridge, 4 sets of 9
Squats leaning on physio ball, 3 sets of 15
Calf raises leaning on physio ball, 2 sets of 15
A little standing on the foam roller
Biceps curl sitting on large ball, 10 pounds each hand, 2 sets of 15
Using the machine in the big weight room, and standing on balance platform:
Lat pulldown, machine set at 6, 15; machine set at 5, standing on one foot, 12 on each leg
Back exercise: machine set at 3, 12; set at 2, 12
Triceps: machine set at 3, 12; set at 2, 12 [this machine has settings 1, 2, 3, 4… rather than anything given in terms of weight; I don't tend to note the numbers when Emilie and I use that instead of the machine in the trainer area)
