I did a bunch of cardio, and then when I tried doing my usual calf exercises, the left calf cramped badly. So Emilie and I worked around stuff, with more massage and less exercise than I'd had in mind.
I hadn't done much exercise in the last few days, because I was short on sleep and feeling somewhat unwell. And then went out to Sahadi after work to get dried fruit yesterday, which involved stairs I'd forgotten about at the Borough Hall station on the 4 train. Seemed okay at the time.
Cardio, 23+2 cooldown, top heart rate 153
Rolled out the IT band etc., after almost forgetting and realized I'd not done that in days either.
Made two or three attempts at hamstring bridges, managing only 3 or 4 each time before giving up. Emilie massaged stuff for me. Then I did ab work on the small ball (4 sets of 10!), and my ball squats (2 sets of 15), but not the calf raises, only the stretch leaning on the ball that goes with that--and she threw in some massage while I was in those standing stretch positions.
So, some standing on the foam roll, but skipped the one-leg stuff this week to spare the calf. My usual work with the lat pulldown, but rotated the balance platform 90° to get a slightly different effect. Then the hug a tree and triceps things, with the platform in different positions. This week's new thing was a hamstring thing that had me lying on my back, physio ball against the wall, and using my legs to push it upward; easier on the calves.
I also got her to massage my elbows some. And have been drinking orange juice for the potassium (I am currently feeling very tired of banana for some reason, but maybe I'll get a banana-and-berry smoothie tomorrow.)
And I got home and found a significantly sore/abraded area under my right breast; I have discarded the bra in question. It may just have been positioned wrong—I didn't notice anything earlier in the day—but that whole batch of bras have gotten old. I will probably wear one of the almost formless ones tomorrow, to avoid rubbing the tender area.
