The gym was unusually crowded for a Friday early evening; I don't know if this is a new pattern, or an anomaly. But it meant I couldn't get the cardio machine I wanted (the only one available wasn't working right).
So, I did a whopping four minutes of cardio on a treadmill, and then went over to the mat. Rolled out the IT band, etc. Said hi to Emilie and assured her that I was okay; I'm not sure if she misinterpreted my message from a couple of days ago, or if I just looked not entirely well.
Hamstring bridge, 4 sets of 9
Psoas, 2 on each side
Squats, 3 sets of 15. I was going to do two sets, but realized I was halfway through a third and decided to complete it. Apparently my subconscious has learned that if Emilie is being conversational rather than talking specifically about exercises, she's doing the counting and I don't have to. In this case, she was being conversational with a different client, and presumably doing the counting for him. So, interesting and no harm done, as far as I can tell (my knees seem none the worse for it, and my quads need the work).
Biceps curls sitting on ball, 10 pounds each hand, 2 sets of 20
Calf raise, 3 sets of 15 (that was deliberate; I've sometimes done 3 of those in recent weeks, but not of the squats)
Some balance stuff standing on the foam roll. I was thinking that I wasn't doing all that well, because I'd had some trouble getting and staying on, and then heard Emilie telling me "good work." When I said I hadn't thought so, she said I was doing well on the verticality.
Ab stuff lying on ball with feet against wall, 12, 10. (I would like to know why the first set of these keeps being fine, and then my head muscles tense during the second set. Or better yet, have the tension stop. Explanations not actually needed.
Row sitting on ball, 40 pounds, 2 sets of 12; 30 pounds, 12
Lat pulldown on half roll, 35 pounds, 12, 12, 15
Triceps thing with the same machine (also on half roll), 20 pounds, 2 sets of 12
Chest press, 50 pounds, 12
Stretches
