Also, I decided a couple of weeks ago to splurge on laundry service, to save having to carry my stuff back and forth. The main result to date is a significant amount of nuisance and some extra stairs climbed in the course of getting things set up and then finding out that they lost the first batch of laundry I gave them (the second did come back clean, but they hadn't dropped it off in the designated location). The gym employee who seems to be responsible for laundry said they might replace or reimburse me for the lost stuff; nonetheless, as an attempt to spend money to reduce hassle, this is not looking much like a success. The hassle I was trying to reduce isn't the laundry as such, since everything is machine-washable, it's schlepping my workout clothes back and forth, which comes close to filling my small daypack on gym days. I was prepared to discover that this wasn't a good example of trading money for convenience, but I didn't expect them to lose my stuff the first time out. I don't want to go shopping for gym clothes; that's already failed once recently.)
