I had a good session with Emilie. This week's balance trick was, after getting up on the foam cylinder, closing my eyes. I surprised her by doing it smoothly (for a few seconds at a time, but still); she had been prepared to have to catch me. Or for me to say no, I wasn't ready for that. But I used to sometimes walk in the park with my eyes closed, opening them every 8 or ten steps to glance at the sidewalk ahead and reorient myself.

Also, we'll now be starting at 6:15 instead of 6:00, because management have rearranged her class schedule slightly. I preferred the other, because this will mean getting home a bit later, but so it goes.

Cardio, 21:00, top heart rate 138
Chest press, 50 pounds, 2 sets of 12
Rolled out IT band and inner thighs
Hamstring bridge, 3 sets of 7, 1 set of 8
Squats with ball, 2 sets of 15 (which may in retrospect have been a mistake)
Calf raises with ball, ditto

A bunch of standing on the foam roller, including a little with my eyes closed, and a bit of looking to one side or the other (which was harder)
The thing from two weeks ago, standing on one foot holding a physio ball, and turning to one side and then the other. I had trouble keeping my balance on that. We may try a bit of just the turning with ball, with both feet on the ground, next time before going back to this.
A while of sitting on the ball, bouncing up and down, and tapping my feet alternately to the side. That was fun, once I got Emilie to be a fixed point rather than bouncing at a different rate/in a different pattern. Apparently she'd tried that one when we first started working together, and I told her almost immediately that it was hurting my knees. Last night, it was disorienting. And in retrospect may be part of overdoing knee stuff last night.

"hug", 20 pounds, 2 sets of 12
A triceps exercise, 20 pounds, 2 sets of 12
Row, different machine, 50 pounds, 7 total while we worked out appropriate machine arrangement, then 3 sets of 12
.
