Again, I mostly did stuff with Emilie. She gave me a new stretch, which involved lying on the foam roller on a table so I could stretch my arms further. For that, she was in position to catch me if necessary; I got comfortable with the foam roller by reminding myself that I couldn't fall off the floor (and couldn't fall far to the floor, starting on a six-inch-diameter object), but a table three feet off the floor is different. Emilie also says I'm getting stronger, which is good.

Cardio, 10 minutes (didn't note heart rate)
Chest press, 50 pounds, 2 sets of 12
Half roller: just standing a bit, then my behind-the-back stretch for the rotator cuff, then balance lateral raise, 2.5 pounds each hand, 2 sets of 15, and 5 shallow squats holding the light-weight balance bar.
Calf raise with ball, 15

That was by myself.

Emilie also had me do a set of those, and a couple of sets of the squats leaning against the ball. Rolled out the IT band. Did some rowing, and some more stuff on the 1/2 roller, just standing, and she said that at some point she'll toss things at me as an additional challenge. I said "no." Thinking about it more, I suspect she may mean "toss a ball for me to catch" rather than throwing something I need to dodge, duck, or just not flinch at.

I did 7 of the really tough hamstring bridges (the foot on roller ones) as my third set of those, more than the first two sets; that's what prompted the comment about getting stronger.

I also let myself be tempted by a sale and bought some more training sessions; given that Emilie will be away for two weeks after my next appointment (a belated honeymoon), plus Thanksgiving and possibly other travel, this will probably run until the end of 2010, unless I deliberately save a couple of them in case I decide I need a refresher.

And then I will go back to working solo, but probably still do a lot of the stuff I've been doing with Emilie, and less with the weight machines.
