Today's amusing trivial discovery: a lemon-and-butter sauce leaches some of the purple color out of purple cauliflower, producing red-and-yellow swirls on the plate.
Also, I went to the gym after work. I went to a gym nearer my office, because I suspected that if I entered the subway station, I might just get a B or D uptown instead of taking the N/R/W to my usual gym. So, slightly different equipment, but variety is not a bad thing.
Cardio, 13 minutes, top heart rate 137
(Cybex) leg press, 215 pounds, 2 sets of 15; 220 pounds, 15
Hip adduction, 100 pounds, 13, 10
Balance lateral raise, 2.5 pounds each hand, 2 sets of 15
Balance squats, 2 sets of 15
Chest press, 50 pounds, 12, 8
Seated calf raise, 60 pounds, 11; 55 pounds, 3 (I could feel the sort of tightness that leads to cramping, so stopped there. I really like the slanted machine better.)
[Free Motion] balance ~fly, "3/15", 15 with each leg forward, "4/20," 15 with each leg forward (I don't know what the units are here; I'm fairly sure they aren't pounds, and I don't think they're kilos.)
Crunches, 2 sets of 30
Back arches, 2 sets of 17
Biceps curls, 10 pounds each hand, 20; 7.5 pounds each, 20
