Do look at the architecture, you'll see cool things, and people will think you're a local. Because all the tourists are too busy carefully not staring, in order to try to pass for locals. (They'd do better to learn to walk like they know where they're going, if they don't want to be identified.) Those of us born and bred here will stop to enjoy the fiddly bits on building facades, the sort you don't get anymore.

I _always_ architecture-spot when I'm being a tourist. I remember hearing a depressing thing a while back, that after the age of eight, most people stop looking up. A pity -- that's where the best architectural fiddly bits are.
