Two things I'm pleased by. One is the homemade imitation morir soñando--a couple of drops of vanilla got it a lot closer to what I'd get at a Dominican coffee shop. The other is dinner: I built it around 69 cents worth of meat. For some reason, ground lamb is cheap at my local supermarket, and that got just under half a pound, enough for one person. The lamb patties I've gotten good at, a bit different from "usual" (I've made them all of three times), because I had neither scallions nor shallots I trusted; a sort-of tzatziki (I had yogurt, I had a cucumber, I had garlic); and some breadsticks, a dinner to make me happy and get the cat to sulk because I wasn't giving her any! Must buy more breadsticks.

And orange juice and milk just sounds wrong... I'll trust you that it's good, but don't anticipate trying it any time soon.

I don't know why they're selling the ground lamb this cheap, and doubt it will last; they've only been selling it at all for about three months.
