I am banged up, and my computer may be sick.

I am banged up because, in trying to cross a platform to change trains this morning, I tripped and fell over someone's wheeled bag. Skinned my left elbow not quite enough to draw blood, and my left knee slightly. Also, serious stiffness in the left shoulder, upper arm, and hip. And now some in the right upper arm. (Yes, I am taking ibuprofen.) No workout this evening, and maybe a long hot bath. If this had to happen, I'm glad it was now rather than Friday (because one of the things I did this weekend was help [livejournal.com profile] adrian_turtle move boxes and put a duvet away for the season and similar things that weren't a big deal, but might be annoying and/or difficult right now).

There is some kind of virus here (a quick look at symantec suggests Trojan.Bankpatch.D). I have talked to the IT guy, and he has installed an anti-malware program, which is now scanning my machine. Because of either the infection or the scanner, my machine is running slow, but unlike some, it is still working. I am being careful about where I go, though: I zipped over to webmail once, quickly, to delete a message I'd sent myself from here before I noticed evidence of the infection. And that's it for today. I'll check email from home this evening, which should be safe. Definitely avoiding anything like bank web sites. (LJ doesn't seem to be on the thing's list of sites it's grabbing cookies for; neither, I suspect, is Panix, but if I have to risk one, I'd rather it be LJ.) Not radio silence, but slower than usual response.

Gosh. I hope the day improves from here on out.

Do feel better soon. Also, to be on the safe side, when you get home tonight change your LJ and Panix passwords.

Ouch! Hope things improve soon. ("Banged up" in British English means "in jail", so your subject line made me blink a few times...)
