AKICILJ: travel to Wiscon

Has anyone here flown via Milwaukee (the actual route is New York City to Madison, and I'll be flying out of either EWR or LGA, and preferably back through LGA)? I am mostly wondering what that airport is like, and looking for recent experiences of flying on Midwest. Also, is there still reasonably regular bus service from Milwaukee to Madison?

The latter is relevant because connecting flights are sometimes cancelled (weather, hardware, acts of Ghu); when that happened at O'Hare I took a three-hour bus trip to get to Madison, and when it happened in Detroit I had to wait and get rebooked several hours later.

(This would be for, probably, May 21 to Madison, May 25 return, in case that's relevant.)

i've flown midwest msp to madison several times, and it's fine. there's a little bit of a hike from one gate to the other in milwaukee, but eh. they're cheap, they're comfortable, and i seem to recall they give you cookies. i would fly them again and probably will in the future.

You beat me to the cookies! They're baked in flight so the cabin smells lovely even if you're gluten free.

Milwaukee's a nice airport. They have a great little used bookstore in the airport proper.

My favourite colleague just told me about the bookstore, so that has inclined me to a Milwaukee stop on the way back.

Milwaukee is a good airport for a connection depending on the carrier, and there is regular bus service via Badger Coaches (http://www.badgerbusonline.com/ticketing/BasicSchedule.aspx) from there to Madison.
