The weekend was quiet and low-energy, enough so that I wonder if my immune system is fighting something off and using up energy doing so. Nonetheless, I went to the gym after work today, and did okay. While I was working on the leg press machine, I saw a kid who looked to be between 10 and 12 on one of the other machines (accompanied by, apparently, an older sibling and parents). My first thought was that they were breaking the gym rules; my second was that I wish I'd had that chance, at his age. (This branch of my gym is also a hotel's pool and health club, and hotel guests are allowed to bring minor children to the pool but not the gym floor.)
