I've spent the last couple of days feeling as though I needed to cough something out of the back of my throat, but unable to cough. About 4:30 this morning, I woke, went to the bathroom, and found that the lump had shifted a bit and felt slightly more as though it might move. I woke [livejournal.com profile] cattitude and got him to move the dishwasher and make me some herb tea, which I drank while he went back to bed. No apparent effect. I also, at Cattitude's suggestion, took half a vicodin in there.

Just now, in going to take another vicodin for pain (it's best to take before the pain gets bad), I noticed the "other uses" on the pharmacy handout: "This medication may also be used to suppress a cough." I took the pill anyway: avoiding the pain is higher priority.

I finally moved my bowels this morning. "Finally" as in, the first since around the time the gall bladder attack started. So that's one less thing to fret about. All I will add here is that the stool softener seems to have done the job, and the experience was not painful.

Still almost no appetite; I've had about 6 ounces of milk so far today, and not even finished my morning mug of tea (Assam, sugar, no milk or lemon).

When I have that "there's something to cough up but it's not moving" sensation I'm usually dehydrated.

Otherwise, I hope you improve soon.
