A hot night, and a small turnout--not just for our group, but in the garden generally.

But I got to see [livejournal.com profile] aiglet and [livejournal.com profile] agrumer and Arwen, and a pair of lurkers down from Boston, Pam and Michael. They were offering some sort of "see, we're really fans even though we only lurk" and mentioned Lenny Foner, and I said "I know him, but not from fandom, from Story Reading." Massive surprise, so I explained that I'd known Elizabeth (Autarch of Boston Story Reading) since we were both in New Haven. Pam mentioned a few other people, who I also know.

Basically, we hung out and talked; somewhere in there the friendly lurkers (who I rather suspect lurk on rasf.written rather than fandom) expressed surprise that we weren't talking about science fiction.

That ain't me

[livejournal.com profile] avram isn't me; I'm [livejournal.com profile] agrumer. I'd have taken avram as my username if the other guy hadn't gotten to it first.

Hm. He seems to like some of the same stuff I like. Maybe I should get in touch with him.

those weren't just any lurkers...

Pam and Michael are Good People indeed, and Good Cat People as well. Delighted that you got to meet them. It seems obvious to me now that all you and Andy and they would enjoy each other immensely. Pam's also an avid gardener. There are similarities between you as couples as well... h'mmm. *grin* They are also both foodies, and have been known (and encourages) to bring garlic-laden leg of lamb to the Potluck Seder. If you and/or Andy visit (we have a guest room -- hint, hint!), perhaps we can all do a semi-potluck and try to outcook each other. :-}
