Yesterday was officially a rest day, and I tried to take today fairly easy as well. Today I also arranged for a few hours to myself: [livejournal.com profile] cattitude had to get stuff done for his job, and went to the office to do it after I mentioned that I could use some alone-time. This also meant walking away from IM--it isn't time alone if I'm chatting with [livejournal.com profile] adrian_turtle in real time. (Have I mentioned lately that my beloveds are wonderful, and that one of the cool things about them is that they all understand that people need to be alone sometimes?)

The "more or less" is situational. I have a cold (though better today than yesterday), so I need more rest than I otherwise would. And the building elevator is broken. I'm not sick enough to skip my daily trip out into the daylight, so I walked in the park both yesterday and today. There's a gorgeous maple at the park nature center, all red and still with all its leaves. It stands out in part because many of the other trees have dropped their leaves: the hillside is much more muted than a week ago, and I walked under quite a few bare branches. Nonetheless, glorious maples, dandelions in green grass, and blue sky notwithstanding, climbing six flights of stairs is not my idea of a rest day. (Nor is it my preferred workout in any case.)

Memo to self: if you're not well enough to go to the gym after work tomorrow, that doesn't mean it's a good time to go to Sahadi's, much less Macy's.
