I nearly got caught today. I put something in our mailbox with 39 cents, and then decided I better check the rate. Fortunately, the mail carrier hadn't been by yet and I was able to carry another 2 cent stamp out. (We live in such a bucolic area that we customarily leave our outgoing mail in the mail box.)
