And spent much of the day puttering around, doing nothing in particular, instead of going to the gym and/or the Panix picnic.

The good side of this is that when Andy wasn't feeling well a few hours ago, I was home to say "Would you like me to feed you chicken soup?" and then put it together (frozen broth + last night's chicken, a bit of fresh ginger because it's good for the stomach, and voila! a lunch the whole family can enjoy).

Meanwhile, the snapdragons continue ridiculously snappy, and we're still waiting for cygnets. There were goslings this morning, on the lawn beyond the swan-declared No-Goose Zone, but goslings are no substitute for cygnets. They aren't even as cute as the ducklings, which have also begun to hatch, yellow-and-brown fluffballs bouncing across the mud flats. My bird book says it takes 35-38 days for cygnets to hatch; if I knew when the eggs had been laid, I'd be able to do something with this information.

(If I do owe a Turbo zine, I may paste it together from bits of this journal.)
