I haven't heard from the HR person at the place I've been interviewing with; on Thursday I was told I'd hear by this morning. I'll call her tomorrow (unless she calls me later tonight, which on the record so far is not unlikely).
On my way home from the gym, I was figuring there'd be a message saying one of "It's yours, call so we can discuss when you're starting"; "Sorry, we hired someone else"; or just "this is $HR_person, please call me." I spent some time going back and forth between expecting the first and the second. Then I got home, saw the message light, played it—and returned my mother's phone call.
The distraction is not useful to getting other things done, but nothing else has a deadline in the next few hours.
I reshaped the workout slightly, because my left upper arm was feeling tender.
Cardio, 20 minutes, top heart rate 144
Chest press, 65 pounds, 12, 9
Calf raise, 80 pounds, 13, 11; 75 pounds, 11
Balance ~fly, 65 pounds, 15 with each leg forward
Leg press, 90 pounds, deep/bending knees much further, 3 sets of 12
Crunches, 3 sets of 30
Back arch, 3 sets of 17
Yoga tree, 4 sets of {3 on each leg}
Squat, 15, 9
Bicep curls, 8 pounds each hand, 2 sets of 20
Balance lateral raise, 5 pounds each hand, 15; 2.5 each, 2 sets of 15
Glute machine, 37.5 pounds, 15 each side (I felt it afterwards mostly in the hamstring, which the machine lists as a "secondary" muscle worked by this exercise)
Wrist curl, 20 pounds, 3 sets of 17
