Snapdragons are really tender perennials (http://cac.uvi.edu/staff/rc3/garden/glossary.html#tenderp). They often overwinter here in Seattle, and come back if the weather is mild or they are in a sheltered location. Playing with the flowers and making them open their mouths is always fun!
We are very late on planting a pack of mixed chilis (http://www.humeseeds.com/pep_mix.htm) here, but I hope we'll get some peppers by the end of the season.
