Yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] cattitude and I did a reasonably long walk in Inwood Hill Park, gathering such black raspberries as we found, and a very few early blackberries.

We hadn't been up in those hills in far too long, for reasons including weather, my foot, and probably a certain amount of inertia. It was very good to be up there again, walking with him, pointing out interesting-looking fungus.

Somewhere in there, my heel started to hurt a bit; a few minutes after that, I could feel myself shifting in ways that suggested knee pain was in the offing. We'd been about ready to leave the park and get lunch anyhow, so we did, and apparently did so soon enough to spare my knee.

This morning, I managed to do the full set of heel stretches (ten 30-second stretches for each foot/calf), with only a short break to remove overly warm clothing (because it's still warm and humid here).
