redbird: closeup of me drinking tea, in a friend's kitchen (Default)

I spoke to Ann this morning, asking her who I should talk to about other openings here at McGraw-Hill [1]. The answer was that she is the person who knows, and she asked for a copy of my resume. So I took a quick look at the file I'd sent myself last night, expanded the section on what I've done here slightly, renamed the file to $myname_resume instead of resume_editorial_$date, and sent it to her.

It also transpired that she thinks they might extend this gig a few days; I'd like to know, one way or the other, so I can plan errands and appointments.

[1] [livejournal.com profile] wild_irises, did I say Wiley? If so, sorry about the confusion.

renamed the file to $myname_resume

thank you thank you thank you.

i'm on two search committees at the moment, and i am finding myself irrationally prejudiced against anyone who sends in a resume named resume.doc (or pdf or whatever) instead of having their name in the file name.

also? blinking text gets you put straight into the "ha ha ha no." pile. at least by me. (i expect that you know this, however.)

Thanks for the gentle smack with the clue-hammer, [livejournal.com profile] kalmn! I just renamed my primary resume while typing this comment.

You did say Wiley, and I was confused. No harm was caused, however, and no apology is needed.
