I had a pleasant afternoon with [livejournal.com profile] roadnotes: we drank tea, ate chocolate cake and apple cakelings (and a not-terribly-successful pound cake with chocolate icing), and talked. Caught up a bit on each other's lives, and our opinions of same. I seem to be either more skilled, or more fortunate, at having a low-drama life: the word that came to mind to describe my Web of relationships is "cosy."

Also, I've had two nice long telephone conversations with [livejournal.com profile] nancylebov recently, after falling out of the habit for several years--and a pleasant habit it is. Books and cats, bodywork and life.

Less cheerfully, I seem to be having another episode of breathing shallowly, and some coughing--either it's mold spores after the weekend's rain, or something that's just come into bloom, or the damned thing isn't an allergy and I should seek out a chest X-ray. In any case, I somehow doubt I'm going to the gym tomorrow morning.

There is definitely something new in bloom. On Sunday evening, my voice suddenly became hoarse in an unmistable allergic way, and my voice was foggy all day yesterday. Use of the neti pot was a great relief.

Based on a random sampling of blogs, my life is definitely more low-drama than most - though I'm not sure how much of that is what happens and how much is the reaction (or lack thereof) to what happens). Either way, I like it that way.
