I seem to be allergic to something that's in bloom right now. That, at least, was my tentative conclusion from the pattern of my coughing and sneezing (which went away completely when I went downtown--there's far less pollen in Midtown, Chinatown, or Downtown Brooklyn than up here next to Inwood Hill Park--and then came back when I got home). But it's triggered a nasty cough, which another patient at my GP's yesterday said sounded like her bronchitis.

I have had bronchitis before, so it seems plausible that something like this could have triggered a relapse. I really don't want the bronchitis to turn into something worse. So, I'll take it easy for a bit: walk slowly, maybe skip the gym altogether (given my difficulty in limiting myself to a light workout), and do my necessary paperwork and online editing.

Addendum: I feel almost okay as long as I do nothing more strenuous than walk around the apartment and occasionally make tea. (There's a tickly feeling in my throat, but that's it.) This makes me want to do more strenuous things, which is a Bad Idea right now.

I've been sneezing, too, have assumed it was allergies.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been feeling ill. I hope that you will feel better soon.

I don't think that I've got allergies, but I seem to be having my second bout of upper respiratory nastiness for the season. The first time I was told it was bronchitis, and I was put on an antibiotic (which I'd never heard of before but my doctor gave me samples for the whole ten day treatment, so I wasn't going to complain). This was several weeks ago, and now I seem to have a sinus infection. I have an appointment at the doctor's for tomorrow. I don't know if the first illness just never went totally away and it's resurfaced as this, or if this is a new bug in my system. I'll find out tomorrow hopefully.
