It's very handy having a store in the building, even a small one.

Neither of us was remotely inspired about dinner this evening. But it occurred to me that bread and butter, and some of the cold chicken from last night--Andy was quite inspired, and roasted that bird, with a fine apple-and-rice stuffing, and made an excellent cucumber salad, and steamed green beans, and we were all well fed and happy--would do. And the little bodega downstairs generally has fresh bread. Nothing fancy, but basic rolls and such.

So Andy went downstairs and bought a couple of rolls, and we are fed, and this is good.

We had fine dim sum for lunch, with Ellie and Greg and Greg's daughter Vicki and Lise; once again, while the restaurant was full, it was far less busy than I'm used to. We asked for a table for 5 at 12:30, expecting to be handed a number, and were seated immediately, at a table with enough room that it was easy for Lise to join us later. And then we did some shopping in Chinatown, and Lise and I went home with Ellie and Vicki, while Andy and Greg went to buy electronic stuff. A lazy afternoon, the sort of socializing that includes idle silences because nobody has much on her mind.

If it only existed, we could send Gary to the Massachusetts State Home for the Terminally Bewildered.
