Someone had to go get groceries this morning--we were very low on the necessary perishables, as in, completely out of both eggs and yogurt, and had nothing to cook for dinner tonight. Since ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
cattitude wasn't up for it, I headed out, bearing shopping list, hat, and umbrella.
The shopping was basically successful, though they didn't have a tube of tomato paste either. On the way home, I realized after about ten steps that the umbrella wasn't feasible: my hands wouldn't put up with either holding both bags in the same hand, or one bag and an umbrella in one hand. It rained lightly, I walked, I was glad of my hat and thinking that it wasn't umbrella weather.
Two blocks from home, the light rain turned into a driving pouring rain. Fortunately, the wind was from behind me, so my hat was enough to keep my glasses dry. And I'd already called home and gotten Cattitude to put a kettle up, so when I walked in, damp down to my shoes and underwear, tea was waiting for me.
julian_tiger and I have had our yogurt, my damp clothes are hanging to dry, and I'm snug in flannel pajamas. But I wouldn't exactly call it restful.
