One advantage of Instant Messaging is that I can drop startling statements on people and not have to listen to the resulting shrieks.

I really enjoy IM too. Feel free to IM me, I'm FiawolC.
I have a couple of friends who like to chat but aren't comfortable with speaking on the phone, or calling me, but who are comfortable initiating IM talks.
