Just talked to my (soon to be ex-) boss. She's decided to show the people at reviews.com how the system works herself, because "after thinking about what [I] said" she concluded it wasn't right to have me training someone who's going to replace me. If, that is, they're going to be editing at all.
She also says it's fine to use her as a reference--which I knew--and that the home address I have for her is still valid.
She doesn't know if they'll be decommissioning the Suns as planned by the time I leave. I pointed out that there's nobody else here who knows how to administer a Sun system, and she said "that's their problem." When I said we could discuss telephone consulting rates, she told me "I suggest you charge top dollar," and I agreed, but said I might give them a discount if it could be done by telephone rather than my having to come in here.
The latter is more of a nuisance than it used to be--they're checking IDs in the lobby. Which I wouldn't mind if I thought it would do any good.
