Someone just called, asked for me by name, identified herself as Hrmph-humph from Edutorial Services, and asked me to confirm my mailing address so she could send me a 1099.
Okay, good that you're sending out the paperwork: I could file my taxes without it, but it's good to have. Not so good that when I said "So I'll have it in a few days?" you responded with "We just ordered the forms." But it does fit with the general nature of my brief employment with these people.
(Anyone who is worrying about identity theft should note that she read me the address, and I just confirmed it.)
