On our way to the supermarket, [livejournal.com profile] cattitude and I thought we'd spotted a robin. It turned out to be a mockingbird; usually they imitate by song, not by gesture and gait.

We have, however, seen the first crocuses. The blossoms were slightly squirrel-chewed, which is only to be expected, but they were crocuses. A moment later, I saw the first ice cream truck of Spring. I bought an ice cream sandwich, on the theory that people who do things I like should be encouraged.

The weather is not forecast to go below freezing for several days, which may be long enough to melt the remaining ice in the park. It's by no means too late for more snow, but I'll deal with that if it happens.

I believe I've prevented another heavy snowstorm in my area: I bought a new scraper/snow brush for my car. We'll see how long its protection extends... (knock, er, wood) usually carrying an umbrella only works for one day.
